Cila is an Anglo-American writer of journalism, fiction and narrative non-fiction.
Writing is her means to explore other lives and possibilities. Inspired by James Baldwin, Michelle Cliff, Audre Lord and Chen Chen, she unravels how the particularities of private lives play out in word and deed; and how forces like economics, nationality and religion affect people’s intimate expressions.
Her favorite things include wine, running, teaching writing and literature, and vegan Mexican food (extra habanero sauce, please).
She lives in Spain with her partner and squad of rescue cats.
